I went through an old scrapbook recently and found pictures I'd taken as a very small girl. The pictures were of my sisters' dolls, posing for "family" portraits. I suppose I've been a photographer since I was old enough to hold the camera and push the shutter button. My poor dad had to keep a close eye on me so that I wouldn't damage his precious Canon. I still have that camera and part of me misses the dark room and the days before digital technology . . . but digital is more suited to this fast paced world that we're in today. It used to take hours to develop and process film. Today we can see the image instantaneously. Though, of course, today you can put hours into digital enhancements!
I've been an official "Professional Photographer" since 2006. Photography guided much of my time and studies in both college and high school, but at 18, 19 and even 20 years old, I didn't quite have the courage to pursue photography as a livelihood. That fear was actually a gift, because I ended up becoming a teacher instead. Today, I'm the mother of 2 small boys, a full-time teacher and a part-time photographer. I love teaching as much as I love studying the world through my lense, so I do both. I find that each profession affects and enhances the other. Thus, my goal as your photographer is to share my passion by providing you with precious memories at a very reasonable cost. I currently have a very flexible schedule because I'm transitioning schools and am substitute teaching, though most my clients tend to book evenings and weekends.
If you're looking for warm, captivating photos, and a relaxed, supportive photographer, you've come to the right place. Give me a call and we'll talk about your ideas and needs.
